"I grew up on the water in the Les Cheneaux Islands of Hessel and
Cedarville, Michigan. I finished two years as a trumpet major at Oberlin
College, and stayed in that town playing everything and anything.
In
1990 I moved back home to Hessel to work at light construction and drive
many miles at night to perform music in a wide circle including Sault
Ste. Marie, Ontario and Petoskey, Michigan. I can be heard regularly as
1st or 2nd trumpet with Sault Swing Band of Sault, Ontario. I perform
mostly on trumpet, hammer dulcimer, and mandolin, and am a contact
person for many area groups. I repair brass instruments.
In
2003 I began transferring my library of recordings to digital, and offer
that service free to friends. I am extremely interested in archived
interviews with elders, and will do interviews and mobile recordings. I
record and produce CDs, still working at low introductory rates.
My
point of departure (toast the re-union!) was to be born a triple
Capricorn with a grand trine in water signs, T-square to Neptune, and
Pluto conjunct mid- heaven. My favorite books include The Gypsies by Jan
Yoors, and The Songlines by Bruce Chatwin."
